                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1222
                   TREMONT STREET, BEING ON THE SOUTHWEST LINE OF
                   TREMONT STREET NORTHWEST OF HIXSON PIKE, FROM
                   R-1 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO C-2 CONVENIENCE
                   COMMERCIAL ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 1222 Tremont Street,
                being on the southwest line of Tremont Street
                northwest of Hixson Pike.   Part of lots 2 and 3,
                block 2, Chattanooga Land, Coal, Iron and Railway
                Company's Addition No. 2, as shown by plat of
                record in plat book 3, page 33, ROHC; being the
                property described in deed book 4463, page 8, ROHC,
                and part of the property described in deed book
                2171, page 599, ROHC.  Said tract and part of tract
                form one tract beginning on the southwest line of
                Tremont Street 65 feet northwest of the
                intersection of the southwest line of Tremont
                Street with the northwest line of Hixson Pike, said
                point being 50 feet southeast of the northwest
                corner of lot 3, said subdivision, thence southwest
                75 feet parallel to the northwest line of lots 3
                and 2, thence southeast 10 feet parallel to Tremont
                Street, thence southwest some 4.7 feet parallel to
                the northwest line of said lot 2, thence northwest
                60 feet parallel to Tremont Street to the northwest
                line of lot 2, thence northeast some 79.7 feet with
                the northwest line of lots 2 and 1 to the southwest
                line of Tremont Street, thence southeast 50 feet
                with Tremont Street to the point of beginning.  Tax
                Map No. 136A-H-23 (part).
               
               
         from R-1 Residential Zone to C-2 Convenience Commercial Zone.
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
